My Own Two Cents

Sometimes I start a pattern. And sometimes that pattern is confusing, or I can’t see where it is headed.  Most of the time when this happens, I start trying to inflict my knitting knowledge on a pattern.  About 20 percent of this infliction is successful (pattern errors, a different way of doing things, and so on).  The remaining 80 percent yields poor results and pattern abandonment.

When I started Morgan, I said to myself, Bethro, I said.  DON’T screw up.  Follow the pattern.  Trust the designer.  When something is confusing, look it up rather than guessing.  And so I did.  Here’s the shocking twist: it worked. Now I have…

Yarn: Gedifra Airmix in lavender (is really gray).
Needles: Size five 16 inch circs.
Notes: Go to the creator’s website for FAQs.  Every question I had was already asked and answered.  Also, The yarn I used is soft and lovely, but I would use something stiffer, like Cascade 220, if I were to make it again. As a result, I used three snaps to keep the brim in place.

I would like to point out this is the first time I have finished a Knitty pattern in its proper season.  Yet another first for the Bethro.
